Importing Projects
Bring a ZIP or folder of documents into a new or existing project, and handle skipped files and partial failures.

Bring a collection of chapters or documents into Muses together. Project import turns supported files into articles and retains the corresponding folder hierarchy shown in the import preview.
Prepare your files
Batch import supports Markdown (.md), plain text (.txt), and Word (.docx). Select a ZIP archive or an entire folder. Save legacy .doc files as .docx first. PDFs and images are not article formats in this flow; add them to materials separately.
Check that your original files open correctly and keep a copy. Import brings in editable content; it is not a complete backup of complex Word layouts or embedded resources.
Choose the destination
- On the home page, open Import and choose Import Project, or use the import action in a project card's menu to import into that project.
- Choose New Project and enter a name and category, or select an Existing Project.
- Select a ZIP or folder and wait for the preview. Check the article count, folder structure, and skipped files before starting the import.
Importing into an existing project adds articles; it does not replace drafts by matching their filenames. Before starting the entire import again, check what is already there to avoid duplicate articles.
Check results and skipped files
The dialog shows parsing and upload progress. When it finishes, check the successful count and the paths and reasons in the skipped-file list. Unsupported formats, files that cannot be parsed, or content over a limit may be skipped; those entries have not become articles.
Open the project and spot-check article titles, body text, and folder locations. Convert or reduce any skipped files you still need before importing them again.
Retry after a partial failure
A network or upload problem may occur after some articles have already been imported. Keep the result dialog open, inspect the error, and choose Retry Remaining. This continues the unfinished part of the current import; successfully imported articles do not need to be uploaded again.
Retrying the remaining items does not repair unsupported formats or reparse files that were already skipped. Closing the dialog and selecting the whole ZIP again starts a new import. Check the existing articles first and import only what is still needed.
